                                                   The Return of Jesus Christ, When Will It Finally Happen?

There has been much speculation in the past that Jesus Christ would return at or near the year 2000. This occurred because the expectation was that Jesus would return 2000 years after his birth. Obviously, this did not happen. We are now almost into the year 2008. What happened? Where is He? Why hasn’t he returned?
(Note: Our western calender was set to the year "1" at the year that Jesus Christ was believed to have been born. That year, "year 1" was believed by biblical scholars to be the 4000th year after the creation of Adam and Eve.)

The Gregorian calendar is the most widely used calendar in the world. A modification of the Julian calendar, it was first proposed by the Calabrian doctor Aloysius Lilius, and was decreed by Pope Gregory XIII, for whom it was named, on 24 February 1582. Years in the calendar are numbered from the traditional birth year of Jesus, which has been labeled the "anno Domini" (AD) era,[1] and is sometimes labeled the "common era" or the "Christian Era" (CE).

James Ussher (4 January 1581-21 March 1656) was Anglican Archbishop of Ireland between 1625-1656. He was a prolific scholar, who most famously published a chronology that purported to time and date Creation to the night preceding October 23, 4004 BC.

Above is a short historical account of how our current western calendar came into being. It was thought that there was about 4000 years from the creation of Adam and Eve to the birth of Jesus Christ, at which point the calendar was reset to "year 1" and when the year 2000 was achieved, 6000 years would be completed. (4000 years before Christ's birth, plus 2000 years after his birth equals 6000 years. According to this calendar Christ should have returned in the year 2000 or thereabouts, and the millennium should have begun. Since it didn't happen, either  this calendar is wrong or our theology is wrong, or both. To find out we will look at what the bible says about the time of Christ's return.

As usual, we (the Christian world) misinterpreted some scriptures, and completely ignored others. There is no sense rehashing and explaining why the mistakes of the past were made except to say that every generation of people has hoped to escape death and live to see the return of Christ. This is a natural thing, so most people who study prophecy look for the best explanation of the scriptures, (best for themselves) that would allow (in a biblical interpretation sense) Christ to return during their lifetime. Therefore, they emphasize some scriptures and ignore others. This is simply human nature, to hope for good things during the course of our own lifetimes. But, if we really want to seek the truth we have to examine the scriptures in a non prejudicial way, and let the chips fall where they may.

There is a set time for the return of Christ, even Satan and his demons know it.

(Mat 8:28-28 NKJV)  When He had come to the other side, to the country of the Gergesenes, there met Him two demon-possessed men, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass that way. And suddenly they cried out, saying, "What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?"

The demons knew that there is a time set for their punishment and they were sure that the time was not yet. That is why they asked Jesus “have you come to torment us BEFORE the time. In early church tradition a non biblical book called the Gospel of Bartholomew states that the inhabitants of hell know that after 6000 years the gates of hell will be opened to receive the two witnesses of Revelation, which is followed by the return of Christ.

The Gospel of Bartholomew (Greek Text)
"And Satan said: Look carefully at who it is that is coming down, for it is Elijah, or Enoch, or one of the prophets that this man seems to be.  But he answered and said: Not yet are the six thousand years accomplished, for the sum of the number is in my hands."

(Note: Enoch and Elijah are the "two witnesses" of the book of Revelation, the two men who have never died but will die at the hands of Antichrist near the end of the tribulation period.)

(Mat 24:3-4 & 36 NKJV)  Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you.... "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

There is a set time for the return of Jesus Christ, and only God the Father knows the exact moment that it will take place. We can never know that moment, but we might be able to narrow it down to a time period of 10 or 20 years.

With that said we have to look at the scriptures and traditions of the church and see what they teach without regard to our own personal interest in having Christ hurry up and get here so that we may escape death, as the scripture says some will.

(1 Cor 15:51-52 NKJV)  Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed; in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

(1 Cor 15:53-57 NKJV)  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory." "O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?" The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

From the very beginning of the church age it was taught that the world as we know it would last for 6000 years followed by 1000 years of peace, commonly called the millennium, for a total of 7000 years, a heavenly week.

David mentioned it in the Psalms, Barnabas preached it and Peter confirmed it in the bible. (Note: The Epistle of Barnabas is not in the bible. It is simply a letter written to the early Christians from the Apostle Paul’s companion in the ministry. While it is not scripture it does show that Paul was allowing Barnabas to teach the doctrine of the 7000 years, since we have no record of Paul refuting it or rebuking Barnabas for teaching it.

The Epistle of Barnabas 15:1-26 Moreover concerning the sabbath likewise it is written in the Ten Words, in which He spake to Moses face to face on
Mount Sinai;
15:2 And ye shall hallow, the sabbath of the Lord with pure hands and with a pure heart.
15:3 And in another place He saith ;
15:4 If My sons observe the sabbath, then I will bestow My mercy upon them.
15:5 Of the sabbath He speaketh in the beginning of the creation;
15:6 And God made the works of His hands in six days, and He ended on the seventh day, and rested on it, and He hallowed it.
15:7 Give heed, children, what this meaneth ;
15:8 He ended in six days.
15:9 He meaneth this, that in six thousand years the Lord shall bring all things to an end ;
15:10 for the day with Him signifieth a thousand years ;
15:11 and this He himself beareth me witness, saying;
15:12 Behold, the day of the Lord shall be as a thousand years.
15:13 Therefore, children, in six days, that is in six thousand years, everything shall come to an end.

15:14 And He rested on the seventh day.
15:15 This He meaneth;
15:16 when His Son shall come, and shall abolish the time of the Lawless One, and shall judge the ungodly, and shall change
the sun and the moon and the stars, then shall He truly rest on the seventh day.
15:17 Yea and furthermore He saith;
15:18 Thou shalt hallow it with pure hands and with a pure heart.
15:19 If therefore a man is able now to hallow the day which God hallowed, though he be pure in heart, we have gone utterly
astray.
15:20 But if after all then and not till then shall we truly rest and hallow it, when we shall ourselves be able to do so after being
justified and receiving the promise, when iniquity is no more and all things have been made new by the Lord,
15:21 we shall be able to hallow it then, because we ourselves shall have been hallowed first.
15:22 Finally He saith to them ;
15:23 Your new moons and your sabbaths I cannot away with.
15:24 Ye see what is His meaning;
15:25 it is not your present sabbaths that are acceptable [unto Me], but the sabbath which I have made, in the which, when I have set all things at rest, I will make the beginning of the eighth day which is the beginning of another world.
15:26 Wherefore also we keep the eighth day for rejoicing, in the which also Jesus rose from the dead, and having been manifested ascended into the heavens.

Barnabas makes it perfectly clear in verse 15:13 that the world as we know it will go on for six thousand years, presumably from the time of the creation of the first people, Adam and Eve. This will then be followed by the heavenly Sabbath, the 1000 years of peace on earth. This will then will be followed by the eighth day, (the number eight symbolizes new beginnings in the bible) which is eternity.

(Psa 90:4 NKJV)  For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night.

Barnabas is no doubt quoting either Psalms or 2nd Peter with his pronouncement in his letter that a day to the Lord is like a thousand years. Remember, Barnabas was sent by the church at Jerusalem, led by Peter and James, to Paul, to assist him in the ministry. So, Barnabas was intimately aquainted with all of the teaching of the Apostles in the Jerusalem Church and traveled for many years with the primary contributor to the new testament, the Apostle Paul.

(Acts 11:22-26 NKJV)  Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch. When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord. For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord. Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul. And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

(Acts 13:1-3 NKJV)  Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas , Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, "Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them. " Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.

(Acts 13:46-47 NKJV)  Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, "It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. "For so the Lord has commanded us: 'I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.'"

While Barnabas was not an Apostle, he was a partner in ministry with all of them. Therefore he was a very learned man in the things of the Lord.

(2 Pet 3:1-7 NKJV)  Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days , walking according to their own lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation." For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

(2 Pet 3:8 NKJV)  But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

(2 Pet 3:9-10 NKJV)  The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

(2 Pet 3:11-14 NKJV)  Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;

The book of Revelation gives us the exact length of the millennium, the time of the 1000 years of peace without mankind being tempted by Satan. The length of the millennium is stated to be 1000 years.

(Rev 20:1-2 NKJV)  Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.  He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;

(Rev 20:3 NKJV)  and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

(Rev 20:4-5 NKJV)  And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished . This is the first resurrection.

(Rev 20:6 NKJV)  Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

It is clear that the world as we know it will go on for 6000 years, followed by the return of Christ, and that followed by 1000 years of peace, with Satan being bound and the saints ruling and reigning with Christ on earth. After this Satan will be released for a short time, the final rebellion will occur, and then a new heavens and a new earth will be created, which is called the eighth day, or eternity.

This is the program, God’s program, but the nagging question is, when will the first six thousand years be completed. The answer is found in the bible in the book of Hosea.

(Hosea 5:14 NKJV)  For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, And like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear them and go away; I will take them away, and no one shall rescue.

(Hosea 5:15 NKJV)  I will return again to My place Till they acknowledge their offense. Then they will seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me."

(Hosea 6:1 NKJV)  Come, and let us return to the LORD; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.

(Hosea 6:2 NKJV)  After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up, That we may live in His sight.

(Hosea 6:3 NKJV)  Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth.

In speaking to the nation of Israel, after they rejected and crucified Jesus Christ, the prophecy says he will go “back to his place” for two days, which means two thousand years. The third day they (Israel) will live in His (Jesus Christ’s) sight. The third day, the third set of 1000 years is exactly the same time period as the heavenly Sabbath, the millennium.

Notice also in verse 5:15, that he will return to his place "until they acknowledge their offense.' When the Israelites and Jews in Israel begin to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, that is when he will return, and not before. They will beg him to return when Antichrist seeks to destroy them all. This is in complete agreement with what Jesus told the Jewish leaders before they crucified Him.

(Mat 23:37-39 NIV)  "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing. Look, your house is left to you desolate. For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'"

Now, concerning the completion of the 6000 years, as stated in verse 6:2, follow my reasoning here; This prophecy begins when Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and “returned to his place.” This was when 4000 years was completed. So add two days or 2000 years to 4000 and what do you have. 6000 years, of course. Now add the third day of 1000 years to that and what do you have? 7000 years. So, the prophecies of Hosea, Peter, Psalms, Barnabas and Revelation are all in agreement. It is clear that the first 4000 years of history was not complete until Christ returned to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father. This can be deduced because it is not until two days (two thousand years) after he returned to his place that the resurrection of the dead will occur followed by his return to earth, and then the 1000 years of peace.  (When he "raises them up to live in his sight" Hosea 6:2)

(Acts 1:6-9 NKJV)  Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, "Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?" And He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority . "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

(Luke 24:50-52 NKJV)  And He led them out as far as Bethany , and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

(Acts 1:10-11 NKJV)  And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven."

(Mark 16:19 NKJV)  So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.

(Mat 24:3 NKJV)  Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"

(Mat 24:29-31 NKJV)  "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. "Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. "And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Biblical references to the Mount of Olives

The Mount of Olives is first mentioned in connection with David's flight from Jerusalem through the rebellion of Absalom (2 Samuel 15:30), and is only once again mentioned in the Old Testament, in Zechariah 14:4. It is, however, frequently alluded to (I Kings 11:7; II Kings 23:13; Nehemiah 8:15; Ezekiel 11:23). It is frequently mentioned in the New Testament (Matthew 21:1;26:30, etc.). The road from Jerusalem to Bethany runs over the mount as it did in Biblical times. According to the Bible, it was on this mount that Jesus stood when he wept over Jerusalem. Jesus is said to have spent a good deal of time on the mount, teaching and prophesying to his disciples (Matthew 24-25), including the Olivet discourse, returning after each day to rest (Luke 21:37), and also coming there on the night of his betrayal (Matthew 26:39).

This mount, or rather mountain range, has four summits or peaks: Two of them are: (1) the "Galilee" peak, so called from a tradition that the angels stood here when they spoke to the disciples (Acts 1:11); (2) the "Mount of Ascension," the supposed site of that event, which was near Bethany. (Luke 24:51, 52);

(Zec 14:1-4 NKJV)  Behold, the day of the LORD is coming, And your spoil will be divided in your midst. For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; The city shall be taken, The houses rifled, And the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then the LORD will go forth And fight against those nations, As He fights in the day of battle. And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south.

First of all, there is abundant proof that it is Jesus who “went back to his place” heaven, at the right hand of God. Colossians tells us that Jesus Christ was pre-existant in heaven before he came to earth and suffered and died for our sins. He in fact is our creator.

(Col 1:13-16 NKJV)  He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

(Col 1:17-19 NKJV)  And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell,

Jesus will return to the same place he ascended from, the Mount of Olives near Bethany, Israel. So, now we know that He (Jesus) is the one who "returned to his place," heaven. We know He left earth from the Mount of Olives, and we know that He will return to earth to the same place, and the scriptures below tell us where He is right now.

(Mat 26:63-64 NKJV)  But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, "I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!" Jesus said to him, "It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven."

(Mark 12:36 NKJV)  "For David himself said by the Holy Spirit: 'The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool."'

(Acts 2:31-36 NKJV)  "he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. "This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. " Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear. "For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself: ' The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool."' "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."

(Eph 1:19-22 NKJV)  and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,

(Heb 8:1 NKJV)  Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

(Heb 10:12 NKJV)  But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,

(Heb 12:2 NKJV)  looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

(1 Pet 3:22 NKJV)  who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him.

It is abundantly clear from the scriptures that it is Jesus who went back to his place at the right hand of God until the time comes when he will return again to earth.

The part about “raising us up to live in his sight” no doubt has a double meaning. It pertains to the restoration of Israel as the worlds greatest nation, (The fulfillment of God’s national promises to Abraham and Israel) and it also pertains to the resurrection when both the old and new testament saints of God will live in his sight and rule and reign with him. We know this is so because King David will rule on a throne in Jerusalem, and since he is now dead he must be raised for that to happen.

(Rev 20:6 & 5NKJV)  Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

(Rev 20:11-13 NKJV)  Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.

(Rev 20:15 NKJV)  And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

In Revelation it is stated that there will only be two general resurrections of the dead. The first resurrection that consists of the saved of all ages, (including King David) and the 2nd resurrection that occurs at the end of the 1000 years peace. That resurrection will include unbelievers from all ages and the saved that die during the millennium.

(Jer 30:4-7 NKJV)  Now these are the words that the LORD spoke concerning Israel and Judah. "For thus says the LORD: 'We have heard a voice of trembling, Of fear, and not of peace. Ask now, and see, Whether a man is ever in labor with child? So why do I see every man with his hands on his loins Like a woman in labor, And all faces turned pale?  Alas! For that day is great, So that none is like it; And it is the time of Jacob's trouble, But he shall be saved out of it.

Note: The time of “Jacobs Trouble’ is another name for the tribulation period. The next set of verses from Jeremiah tell us what will happen immediately after the tribulation period.

(Jer 30:8-10 NKJV)  'For it shall come to pass in that day,' Says the LORD of hosts, 'That I will break his yoke from your neck, And will burst your bonds; Foreigners shall no more enslave them. But they shall serve the LORD their God, And David their king, Whom I will raise up for them.   'Therefore do not fear, O My servant Jacob,' says the LORD, 'Nor be dismayed, O Israel; For behold, I will save you from afar, And your seed from the land of their captivity. Jacob shall return, have rest and be quiet, And no one shall make him afraid.

The verse above makes it clear that Israel will be regathered and David will be raised from the dead and rule over them. So, the complete regathering of Israel and the resurrection of the saved occur very close together. God is regathering Israel now, and the resurrection will follow.

So, the common historical consensus is that Jesus Christ ascended into heaven sometime between 28 AD. at the earliest, and 34 AD. at the latest. That would put his return at sometime between 2028 and 2034, 2000 years after he ascended into heaven to “return to his place” at the right hand of God the Father.

Now, there may be a small amount of time saved from the first six thousand years to allow Satan to be released from his prison at the end of the millennium without having the entire human experiment exceed six thousand years plus the millennium, a total of seven thousand years.

For example, if Satan were allowed six months to deceive the nations then God might suspend the 6000 years at 5999 ½, execute Christ’s return and the resurrection, have the millennium, and then let Satan out for six months, and the whole process would total exactly 7000 years. If God were to allow Satan seven years at the end of the millennium to deceive the nations once again, then He might have Christ return after 5993 years instead of 6000. This would be done so that the total time period of Gods plan will not exceed 7000 years.

(Isa 28:21 KJV & 28:22 NKJV)  For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act. Now therefore, do not be mockers, Lest your bonds be made strong; For I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts, A destruction determined even upon the whole earth.

In scripture  God's program is called His "Strange Act." It is strange to us only because we don't fully understand it, but someday we will and it will become clear to everyone just how perfect his plan is and was.

(1 Cor 13:12 NKJV)  For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

The fact of the matter is, we just don’t know how much time will be shortened or cut off from the 6000 year period to allow time at the end. It will be shortened though, but it could be anywhere from a few days to a few years. Christ made it clear that he was talking about the end times and the tribulation period when he was speaking about the days being shortened or cut off.

(Mat 24:21-22 NKJV)  " For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. "And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.

(Mark 13:19-20 NKJV)  "For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be. " And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

So, it could be a little sooner than we expect, it could even be 3 ½ or 7 years sooner if God allows Satan the same amount of time he had to deceive the nations during the first tribulation period 1000 years earlier. So, lets say that at a maximum 7 years might be taken off of the first 6000 years and saved for the end of the millennium for Satan to be loosed. What does that do to our calculations. That means that we can possibly subtract 7 years from 2028 which gives us the year 2021. That means Christ could return anytime between 2021 and 2034.

Now, just to be completely on the safe side, we need to be sure that the possibility of error in our calendar has been accounted for. In the quality assurance field a margin of error in tolerance is often plus or minus .007. (seven thousandths) Lets use a similar technique for this calculation except that we will use plus or minus seven years just to make sure we have a margin of error for anything we may have inadvertently overlooked. By doing this we now come up with the final conclusion that if the theory that Jesus Christ will return after 6000 years is correct, which would be 2000 years after his ascention, then he will return sometime between 2021-7 years margin for error which is 2014 on the low end, and 2034 + 7 years margin for error which is 2041 on the high side.

This then is our best guess, that Jesus Christ will return sometime between 2014 and 2041. Some believe that Jesus will remove the church from the world seven years before his physical return to earth. (commonly called "the rapture) If this were the case that event could happen as early as 2007.

what if he doesn't return by 2041? Should we be disheartened or lose our faith? Absolutely not. Jesus will return someday. Perhaps we misunderstood the scriptures again, but we still did the right thing. The bible tells us to study and to read and we will be blessed for our obedience, even if we don’t understand it.

(2 Tim 2:15 KJV)  Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

(Rev 1:3 NKJV)  Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

No one can know exactly when Jesus Christ will return though, the scripture is clear on that.

(Mat 24:36 NKJV)  " But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only .

(Mark 13:32 NKJV)  "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father .

(Mark 13:33-37 NKJV)  "Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. "It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. "Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming; in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning;  "lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping.  "And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!"

(Hosea 6:2 NIV)  After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence.

So, the conclusion is this: Prepare and look for theliteral and physical return of Jesus Christ to the Mount of Olives in Israel, sometime between 2014 and 2041. If he doesn’t return by 2041, don’t be disappointed or lose your faith, he will return someday, and his reward is with him.

(Heb 9:28 KJV)  So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

(Rev 22:12 NKJV)  "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.

For those who do not believe, the Lord Jesus Christ has one final warning;

(Mat 24:44 KJV)  Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

(Luke 12:40 KJV)  Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

(Rev 3:3 NKJV)  "Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.

(Mat 25:32-33 NKJV)  "All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. "And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.

(Mat 25:34 NKJV)  "Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

(Mat 25:41 & 46 NKJV)  "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: ...."And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

Salvation

This site would not be complete without a simple explanation of Salvation.

Very briefly, everyone who ever has or will ever make it into God’s Kingdom will have been saved by faith in the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Many before his first coming never knew is name as Jesus Christ. They only knew and believed by faith that God Would someday send a Redeemer, a Messiah, a Christ, to save them from both spiritual and physical problems. They had Faith in an unknown un-named Jesus Christ.  The promise of a Saviour began in Genesis right after mans fall into sin and salvation by faith in this promise has been available from the time of Adam and Eve onward up until This promised Messiah, Saviour and Redeemer was revealed as Jesus Christ about 2000 years ago.

We no longer have the option of just believing in some un-named coming redeemer for salvation. This option vanishes for every person the moment they hear, read or have the Gospel presented to them in some manner. From that point on they must make a choice. This is so because Jesus said;

(John 10:24-29 NCV)  The Jews gathered around him and said, "How long will you make us wonder about you? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly." Jesus answered, "I told you already, but you did not believe. The miracles I do in my Father's name show who I am. But you don't believe, because you are not my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never die, and no one can steal them out of my hand. My Father gave my sheep to me. He is greater than all, and no person can steal my sheep out of my Father's hand.

Since Jesus returned to Heaven whenever anyone hears the Gospel the Holy Spirit is there to open the minds and hearts of those who are hearing it to the fact that it is the truth. Anyone who rejects the Gospel upon having it presented to it simply show that they are not willing to accept the truth and be saved.

You can be saved right now, in the next few moments by simply praying sincerely to God the Father and to Jesus Christ the simple prayer below.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus Christ; I know I am a sinner. Please come into my life and save me and forgive me all of my sins and make me into the kind of person you want me to be. I’m trusting only in Jesus Christ for my salvation and I ask this prayer in his name. Thank You Lord for Saving me, Amen.

That's all there is to it. Now tell someone about it. Read your Bible. Get Baptized. Discover your Spiritual Gifts and Talents. Find a good church and volunteer to serve in some manner according to your gifts and talents.

You may ask, How do I find a good church. That's easy. Find one where people are being saved or at least an invitation is given for salvation through Jesus Christ in every service and you will be in a good church.

(John 7:14-17 NCV)  When the feast was about half over, Jesus went to the Temple and began to teach. The Jews were amazed and said, "This man has never studied in school. How did he learn so much?" Jesus answered, "The things I teach are not my own, but they come from him who sent me. If people choose to do what God wants, they will know that my teaching comes from God and not from me.

If you begin to serve the Lord and do his will you will understand more and more with certainty the truth of teaching and doctrines of Jesus Christ. If you ever doubt your salvation, refer to the verse below, and remember, God cannot lie, it is true, and will always be true if you meet the qualifications in the verse below.

(Rom 10:9 NKJV)  that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

(Titus 1:2 NKJV)  in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began,
