There are many theories as to when the “rapture” called the “first resurrection” in scripture, will take place. The first resurrection is the time when the saved of all ages go up to meet Christ in the air, and to then be forever with the Lord. The dead in Christ go up first, and then the living. This is the "Blessed Hope", written for our comfort in a troubled world. 1Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1Thessalonians 4:17-18 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. Titus 2:13 NKJV looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, As I said, there are many theories as to when this event will take place. Listed below are eight of the most common of them. There are many more. We are only going to cover the pre-millenial opinions, because if the (FR) (First Resurrection) occurs after the return of Christ the timing of the rapture will be a moot (unimportant) point. ___ 1. Seven year pre trib: The (FR) will take place seven years before the return of Jesus Christ. When he returns with his saints seven years after the rapture, Christ will destroy the armies of the world at Armageddon. ___ 2. 3 ½ year pre trib: The same as above but with the belief that the total time of the tribulation period also called “Jacobs trouble” is only 3 ½ years long. The saints escape the entire tribulation period, same as above, but the entire tribulation period is only half as long. ___ 3. mid-trib: The saints endure the first 3 ½ years of the tribulation period and then are removed from the earth in the middle of the tribulation period, about the time that Antichrist breaks his covenant with Israel and seeks to kill all Christians and Jews who will not worship Him as God. ___ 4. 2/3 trib: The saints will endure the first two sets of judgments outlined in the book of Revelation (seals and trumpets) but will escape the seven bowls or vials containing the “Wrath of God.” (Note: the seven years are divided into 3 parts of two years and four months each, so the saints will endure four years and eight months of the tribulation and escape the last two years and four months. ___ 5. Pre-wrath: The saints will endure the first two sets of judgments, the same as above, but with no set time period. The FR could take place at any time after the tribulation begins, since no one knows the length or duration of the judgment sets. The saints will escape the “Seven Bowls of the Wrath of God.” ___ 6. Pre-wrath 6/7: The saints will endure the first two sets of judgments, the same as above, but the length of the first two judgment sets is six years. The church will escape the "Wrath of God," which occurs during the 7th year. This theory is based on the "Six days shalt thou labor and on the seventh day you shall rest" commandment. (being fulfilled as a TYPE in prophecy) ___ 7. Late-trib or pre-return: The saints will be removed from the earth just before Christ returns to destroy the armies of the world at Armageddon. They return with him and rule and reign for a thousand years. ___ 8 . Post-trib: Christ returns and then raises the dead after he destroys the armies of the world at Armageddon. The living and the newly raised dead then rule and reign with Christ for a thousand years (the millennium) over the people who were alive but not Christians at his return. If you have noticed, I have included a place to check off each of them. If we are gone before the Book of Revelation begins to be fulfilled you won't need this list on your refrigerator. But, if the Antichrist appears on the scene and we are still here you may want to check off each theory as prophetic events occur and bypass it. It is possible that none of these are correct and that God has a surprise for us. Even the angels don't know for certain when it will happen, so how can we? The best preparation, as the old saying goes, Pray for Pre, (pre-trib) but Prepare for Post. (post-trib) One famous prophecy preacher (David Wilkerson) likes to say he believes in Pan-Trib, that it will all pan out in the end. SALVATION (Romans

reconciled to God the Father right now through Jesus Christ.
Simply speak to God and
say: Dear God, I believe Your Word, the Gospel. (good news) I

Jesus Christ that he died in my place to pay for my sins. Forgive me
all of my sins through Jesus and make me into the kind of
person you want me to be.
That's it. The rest is up to him. If you really meant it the Holy Spirit will come into your life and begin to change you. You will be a new person. Follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the scriptures and you will have an exciting journey through this life ahead of you and etenal life at the end.
